Laborers and helpers in the lift (elevator/escalator) industry play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of vertical transportation systems. They support skilled technicians and engineers in both construction and service roles. [1, 2, 3]
Job Roles and Responsibilities
- Installation Support: Assisting in erecting lift structures, installing guide rails, cab assembly, and motor positioning.
- Material Handling: Loading/unloading heavy equipment and transporting materials to work sites.
- Site Preparation: Cleaning construction sites, removing obstacles, and preparing pits.
- Technical Assistance: Helping with cable pulling, wiring, and using hand/power tools.
- Safety Adherence: Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and using protective equipment
