Job Description
- Analyze customer RFQs, engineering drawings (2D/3D), and technical specifications to determine manufacturing feasibility.
- Prepare detailed cost sheets for sheet metal, welding, and CNC machining processes (material usage, scrap allowance, machine hours, labor, and finishing).
- Evaluate raw material requirements, tooling/die costs, and fixture requirements.
- Validate and release quote documents, including cost breakdowns, margins, and commercial assumptions.
- Utilize ERP software to manage and track quotes, ensuring timely submission.
- Lead techno-commercial discussions and negotiate final prices with clients
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to drive growth for fabrication, laser cutting, and welding services.
- Generate new enquiries (leads) through targeted marketing efforts, including LinkedIn, industrial SEO, and trade exhibitions.
- Develop and maintain a strong brand identity for high-quality fabricated components.
- Conduct competitor analysis, market research, and pricing intelligence to align our offerings with industry trends.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and purchasing teams to ensure estimated cycle times and material costs are realistic.
Required Skills & Experience
- Education: BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing Engineering./MBA in Marketing with Knowledge of Engineering
- Experience: 4–10+ years in B2B marketing, business development, or estimation within the Metal Fabrication/sheet metal industry.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of machining, sheet metal stamping, welding processes, and GD&T.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced) for cost modeling and experience with ERP systems and CAD viewers.
- Communication: Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills for client interactions
