Job Description
Job Title: Assistant Project Manager (APM) – Area Projects
Job Summary : The Assistant Project Manager (APM) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing multiple building repair, rehabilitation, restoration, waterproofing, structural strengthening, and painting projects within the assigned area. The role involves ensuring smooth day-to-day project operations, timely execution as per project schedules, quality workmanship, optimum utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment, while maintaining client satisfaction, safety standards, and profitability.
- Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, execute, and monitor multiple building repair and restoration projects simultaneously.
- Prepare project execution plans, work schedules, and resource deployment plans.
- Lead and supervise Site Engineers, Supervisors, Contractors, and Vendors.
- Ensure work is executed as per drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Monitor daily work progress and ensure project milestones are achieved within timelines.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, society committees, architects, and structural engineers for smooth project execution.
- Ensure timely availability of materials, labour, machinery, and subcontractors at all sites.
- Review daily progress reports, manpower deployment, and productivity.
- Resolve technical and site execution issues with minimum impact on project schedules.
- Monitor project costs, variations, billing progress, and material consumption to maintain project profitability.
- Ensure timely preparation of measurements, client billing, subcontractor billing, and documentation.
- Conduct regular site inspections, quality audits, and safety reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, statutory regulations, and safety practices.
- Report project status, risks, delays, and action plans to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- RequirementsB.E./Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- 5–10 years of experience in building repair, restoration, structural rehabilitation, waterproofing, painting, or civil construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, execution, billing, quality control, and construction methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, project planning tools, and construction documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
