Systems Adminstrator - Wintel| Thane
- Managing and maintaining the Windows-based infrastructure and related technologies within an organization.
- The term "Wintel" refers to the combination of Windows operating systems running on Intel-compatible hardware.
The Wintel Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance and support of the organization's Windows-based infrastructure, including servers, operating systems, applications, and related components. They ensure the availability, reliability, and security of the Wintel environment, and they play a key role in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to Windows-based systems.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, operating systems, and related software applications.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize the performance of Wintel servers and infrastructure.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and security fixes to maintain a secure and up-to-date environment.
- Manage Active Directory services, including user accounts, group policies, and domain services.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions for Wintel systems to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate Wintel systems with the overall IT infrastructure and ensure seamless operation.
- Provide technical support to end-users and IT teams regarding Wintel-related issues, incidents, and service requests.
- Conduct system audits, monitor event logs, and perform security assessments to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of system upgrades and migrations to newer versions of Windows operating systems or hardware.
- Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the Wintel domain to propose and implement improvements.
- Create and maintain documentation related to the Wintel infrastructure, including configuration, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures.
