Equifax is seeking a technical product owner who is a master at bridging the desires of the customer and the capabilities of the technology, removing barriers to software development. You will be responsible for grooming the product backlog and have insight into technical requirements of individual stories thus creating a more efficient user experience.

What you’ll do

• Groom and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring user stories are clear, actionable, and aligned with quarterly business outcomes.

• Work intimately with Architecture, Engineering, and QA teams to decompose complex epics into technical requirements. Lead t-shirt sizing and estimation sessions.

• Act as the primary point of contact for requirements, translating market/customer needs into technical deliverables.

• Oversee the full sprint lifecycle, from planning to demo/acceptance. Monitor velocity, quality (defect trends), and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.

• Proactively identify and resolve cross-team dependencies to keep the critical path clear.

What Experience You Need

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline (equivalent professional experience may be considered).

• 8+ years of experience in a Product Owner or a similar role within a cloud-based or SaaS product environment.

• Deep proficiency in Agile/Scrum, including hands-on experience in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and Agile ceremony facilitation.

• Ability to converse comfortably on data structures, API integrations, and cloud architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP).

• Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships in a global, matrixed organization. You are comfortable saying "no" to protect team velocity and "yes" to strategic value.

What could set you apart

• Experience managing products that leverage AI/ML models or large-scale data analytics platforms.

• Active Cloud certification (AWS/Azure/GCP) or Product Owner certification (CSPO/PSPO).

• A background in consulting or business analysis where you had to influence technical teams without direct authority.

• Prior experience in the FinTech or credit reporting domain.
