Position: Project Manager-SAP - Cutover & Release - Manager

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) Preferably Engineering
• Minimum 3-4 E2E Implementation Project along with experience in Support / Roll out / Upgrade Projects
• Min 10-12 Years of relevant of consulting experience SAP Implementation 
• 3+ years in SAP release management and cutover roles.
• Strong hands-on experience in SAP implementation delivery (S/4HANA preferred)
• Proven experience managing end-to-end Cutover & Release activities from a Project Manager perspective 
• Good understanding of functional/domain knowledge and Implementation Methodology

 

Professional Mandatory Requirements:

• Good understanding of functional/domain processes across SAP modules and implementation methodologies
• Solid understanding of SAP implementation methodologies (SAP Activate), along with strong knowledge of SAP architecture, modules, and cross-module integration points.
• Proven experience managing SAP S/4HANA projects, including Fit-Gap, Data Migration, Testing, Cutover & Hypercare.
• Ensure strong project governance, documentation, and adherence to delivery milestones.
• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, resource needs, and delivery plans while developing and monitoring project schedules, milestones, risks, and dependencies.
• Experience in planning, managing, and executing end-to-end cutover strategies and release cycles (Dev → Test → Production)
• Ability to:
  • Develop and manage comprehensive cutover plans including business, technical, and data migration activities
  • Lead mock cutovers, readiness assessments, and Go/No-Go discussions
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and contingency plans during cutover
• Strong project management experience including stakeholder management, governance, and reporting
• Coordinate with functional, technical, infrastructure, and business teams for seamless execution
• Experience in:
  • Transport management and release governance
  • Environment planning and system readiness
  • Integration sequencing across SAP modules
• Drive business & IT alignment during cutover and release phases
• Strong exposure to SAP Activate, Agile, or Hybrid delivery methodologies
• Proficiency in project and release management tools such as:
  • MS Project, Smartsheet, Primavera
  • JIRA, Azure DevOps (ADO), CHARM or similar tools
• Oversee hyper care handover and stabilization activities and Support early-life operations until systems stabilize
• Experience in onshore-offshore/global delivery models
• Act as the primary liaison for clients and business stakeholders while conducting regular status meetings, steering committee updates, and managing stakeholder expectations. 

 

Added Advantage:

• Functional exposure to modules like FICO, MM, SD, PP, QM, HCM, Ariba, MDG
• Cross-module integration knowledge
• SAP certifications (SAP Activate or module-specific)
• Experience in large-scale or multi-country implementations
• Exposure to Middle East or global SAP programs
• Knowledge of ITIL framework and release management best practices

 

Roles/Responsibilities:

• Act as Cutover & Release Project Manager for SAP implementation programs
• Own and manage:
  • Cutover planning, tracking, and execution
  • Release management lifecycle and deployment governance
• Define and execute cutover strategies aligned with project timelines and business prioritiesLead cross-functional coordination across SAP modules and external systems
• Ensure readiness of:
  • Systems
  • Data migration
  • Interfaces
  • Business users
• Conduct cutover rehearsals, readiness checks, and stakeholder reviews
• Drive effective communication during cutover window, including issue escalation and resolution
• Ensure successful Go-Live and transition to Hypercare
• Manage post go-live stabilization and support transition activities
• Provide continuous improvement recommendations based on lessons learned
• Provide post-go-live support and continuous improvement recommendations. .

 

General:

• Should have good written & communication skills.
• Should be able to handle the client individually.
• Ability to flex working hours to support US-based collaboration.
• Ability to travel if required.
• Middle East -SAP implementation experience preferred.
