Facilitator – Education & Community Projects
Thuvakkam Welfare Association: Field-based (Schools and Community Project Sites)
Employment Type: Full-time

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Facilitator will support the implementation of Thuvakkam Welfare Association’s education and community development initiatives across schools and community locations. This role is primarily field-based and involves supporting school programs, community engagement activities, site visits, and laboratory and learning space implementation.
The Facilitator works closely with the Associate Education Team to ensure effective execution of project activities in alignment with approved project plans and organizational standards.
The role reports to the Associate Education Team.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES & WORK FOCUS
In this role, the Facilitator will be engaged in a range of field-based responsibilities that support the effective delivery of Thuvakkam Welfare Association’s projects. Key work areas include:
- Supporting school-level implementation through regular visits to project sites
- Assisting in the setup and operational support of science labs, STEAM labs, computer labs, libraries, and other learning spaces
- Conducting on-ground sessions, practical activities, and student engagement initiatives
- Conducting community visits, meetings, and awareness activities as part of project execution
- Coordinating with school leadership, teachers, and local stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of activities
- Conducting exposure visits, workshops, special programs, and project-related events
- Maintaining basic implementation records such as attendance, activity logs, and photographic documentation
- Sharing timely field updates, observations, and implementation challenges with the education team
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide field-level implementation for education, community, and school development projects undertaken by Thuvakkam Welfare Association
- Conduct the execution of project activities across schools and communities, ensuring alignment with approved project plans and timelines
- Implementing and operating support of science labs, STEAM labs, computer labs, libraries, and other learning infrastructure
- Support Associate during school visits, site assessments, monitoring visits, and partner or donor engagements
- Coordinate with school leadership, teachers, and staff to facilitate smooth execution of project activities
- Conduct community visits and stakeholder interactions to support project objectives and community engagement efforts
- Organize and execute exposure visits, workshops, events, and special project initiatives
- Provide logistical and on-ground support during training sessions, demonstrations, and learning activities
- Maintain basic project documentation including attendance records, activity logs, and photo documentation
- Share timely field-level updates, observations, and implementation challenges with the reporting team
- Ensure all interactions and activities adhere to child protection policies, safeguarding norms, and ethical standards
COLLABORATION & STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
The Facilitator will work in coordination with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation. This includes:
- Working closely with the Associate Education Team to support planning and on-ground execution of activities
- Coordinating with school leadership, teachers, and school staff to facilitate smooth implementation of school-based interventions
- Engaging with community members and local stakeholders during field visits and community activities, as required
- Supporting coordination during partner, donor, and monitoring visits to project sites
- Maintaining clear and professional communication with all stakeholders involved in project activities
- Contributing to a collaborative team environment that supports timely delivery of project objectives
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Educational qualification in any of the following:
- B.Tech, B.Sc / M.Sc- Computer Science MSW (Master of Social Work), Certified STEM Trainer or equivalent qualification
- Language proficiency:
- Fluency in English and Telugu (spoken and basic written communication)
- Prior exposure to:
- School-based programs, education initiatives, STEM activities, or community development projects (preferred)
- Willingness to work in a field-based role involving regular school, community, and site visits
- Ability to follow structured implementation plans and support multiple project activities
- Basic documentation and reporting skills
- Strong sense of professionalism, responsibility, teamwork, and ethical conduct.
