Deputy Production Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Production Planning & Execution: Assist in developing and implementing production schedules, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor adherence to customer drawings and specifications, coordinate with QA teams to resolve deviations.
• Team Supervision: Lead and motivate shop-floor staff, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify process inefficiencies and implement lean manufacturing practices to optimize productivity.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with procurement, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports for senior management.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of built-to-print manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, assembly).
• Proficiency in production planning, scheduling, and ERP/MRP systems.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate them into actionable production steps.
• Ability to work efficiently based on engineering-defined operation hours, ensuring adherence to time standards and productivity targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
• 7–12 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 3–5 years in supervisory roles.
• Demonstrated experience in customer-driven, specification-based manufacturing environments.
• Experience working with engineering teams to meet defined operational efficiency standards.

• Reports to: Production Manager
• Direct Reports: Supervisors, Operators, and Technicians
