Production / Manufacturing Head

A Head of Manufacturing oversees all production operations, ensuring products are delivered safely, within budget, and to quality standards. They develop manufacturing strategies, optimize production efficiency, maintain machinery, manage teams (30+ employees), and meet, often strict, delivery timelines.

Core Responsibilities

• Strategic Production Planning: Develops master production schedules, operating budgets, and resource allocation to align with organizational goals.
• Operational Excellence: Drives efficiency via lean manufacturing, reducing waste, and improving productivity through process improvement initiatives
• Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensures compliance with ISO systems, health, safety, and environmental regulations, and maintains high-quality standards.
• Resource & Team Management: Manages shop floor staff, hiring, training, and performance to maximize productivity.
• Logistics & Cost Control: Monitors inventory, manages raw material procurement, and keeps production costs within budget. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related technical field.
• Experience: Extensive experience in senior manufacturing roles
• Technical Skills: knowledge of machinery
• Leadership: Strong ability to lead large, cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, and solve complex operational problems.
