Maintenance Technician

What You Will Do

1. Preventive & Scheduled Maintenance

•     Execute a daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance schedule for all plant machinery — poha processing line, motors, conveyors, weighing systems, and packaging equipment

•     Lubricate, inspect, clean, and adjust mechanical components as per maintenance schedules — before problems arise, not after

•     Check and maintain all electrical panels, wiring, switches, and control systems for safe and optimal operation

•     Maintain a maintenance log — date, machine, task performed, parts used, and observations — for every activity

•     Flag aging parts, wear-and-tear concerns, and upcoming replacement needs to the Plant Head in advance

2. Breakdown & Emergency Response

•     Respond to machine breakdowns immediately — diagnose the root cause and restore operations in minimum time

•     Carry out first-level electrical repairs — motor faults, starter failures, wiring issues, MCB tripping — safely and correctly

•     Carry out first-level mechanical repairs — belt replacements, bearing changes, shaft alignments, conveyor adjustments

•     Know when a fault requires an external specialist — escalate promptly rather than attempting repairs beyond competence

•     Maintain a breakdown register — record every fault, its cause, what was done, time taken to restore, and what will prevent recurrence

3. Plant Infrastructure & Utilities

•     Maintain all plant utilities — air compressors, water pumps, exhaust systems, lighting, and power distribution boards

•     Ensure all electrical earthing, safety switches, and emergency stop systems are functional at all times

•     Coordinate with the Plant Head for any civil or structural maintenance requirements — report, do not ignore

•     Ensure the maintenance workshop and spare parts store are organised — right part findable in under 2 minutes

4. Safety & Compliance

•     Follow all electrical and mechanical safety protocols strictly — no shortcuts, no improvised wiring, no bypassed safety guards

•     Ensure all machines have functional safety guards in place before and after any maintenance work

•     Report any unsafe conditions — exposed wiring, oil leaks, excessive vibration, unusual sounds — immediately

•     Comply with all factory safety and audit requirements relevant to ISO and FSSAI certified production environments
