Job Description
Job Summary:The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medicines accurately, maintaining pharmacy records, managing medicine stock, and ensuring proper patient guidance regarding medication usage. The role also includes maintaining compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense prescribed medicines accurately as per doctor’s prescription.
- Verify prescriptions for dosage, interactions, and patient safety.
- Maintain proper stock of medicines and surgical items.
- Monitor expiry dates and ensure timely removal of expired medicines.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory and billing records.
- Guide patients regarding medicine usage, dosage, and precautions.
- Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff for medicine availability.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area.
- Ensure compliance with hospital and pharmacy regulations.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.
- Handle emergency medicine requirements efficiently.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
