Job Position: Area Manager

Department: Retail Operations

Reporting To: Operations Head / Retail Head



Job Summary:

The Area Manager will be responsible for managing and supervising multiple retail outlets of Jagdish Farshan within the assigned region. The role involves ensuring smooth store operations, maintaining brand standards, achieving sales targets, improving customer satisfaction, managing staff performance, and ensuring compliance with operational and hygiene standards across all outlets.



Key Responsibilities

1. Store Operations Management

  • Conduct regular outlet visits and inspections as per the Area Manager Checklist.
  • Ensure store cleanliness, hygiene, ambience, and visual merchandising standards are maintained.
  • Verify proper functioning of air conditioning, lighting, digital displays, and electrical equipment.
  • Ensure exterior branding, signboards, promotional materials, and displays are properly maintained.
  • Monitor overall store presentation and customer-friendly environment.

2. Sales & Business Performance

  • Review outlet sales performance against targets.
  • Ensure staff are aware of daily sales goals and ongoing promotional activities.
  • Monitor upselling and customer engagement activities.
  • Support outlets in improving sales conversion and customer retention.
  • Analyze store performance reports and take corrective actions where required.

3. Staff Supervision & Team Management

  • Monitor staff punctuality, attendance, grooming, and discipline.
  • Ensure staff behaviour is professional, polite, and customer-oriented.
  • Assess Store Managers’ leadership and operational capabilities.
  • Ensure daily staff briefings and team coordination activities are conducted.
  • Motivate and guide teams to achieve operational and sales objectives.
  • Support training and development initiatives for store staff.

4. Inventory & Stock Management

  • Verify stock availability for fast-moving products.
  • Monitor slow-moving, dead stock, and expiry products.
  • Ensure damaged products are properly segregated and recorded.
  • Review stock reconciliation and inventory variance reports.
  • Ensure the timely display of new arrival products.
  • Maintain backroom organization and stock accuracy.

5. Customer Service & Experience

  • Ensure customer complaints are properly recorded and resolved within timelines.
  • Monitor billing experience and customer service quality.
  • Ensure customer seating/waiting areas are clean and maintained.
  • Verify that customer feedback books and customer data records are maintained.
  • Ensure loyalty programs and promotional offers are explained to customers.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and Google ratings.

6. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all licenses and statutory documents are updated.
  • Verify fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and safety equipment are functional.
  • Ensure pest control and maintenance schedules are followed.
  • Maintain hygiene standards in washrooms and staff areas.
  • Ensure attendance records, audit reports, and area visit reports are properly maintained.

7. Reporting & Audit

  • Submit area visit reports on time.
  • Follow up on pending audit points and ensure closure.
  • Maintain operational checklists and compliance reports.
  • Coordinate with Head Office for operational improvements and issue resolution.

Qualification & Experience

  • Graduate in any discipline preferred
  • Minimum 3–6 years of experience in Retail/FMCG/Food Industry
  • Experience in handling multiple outlets will be preferred
