Production Supervisor

Location: Vadodara, Gujarat

Industry: Crane Manufacturing / Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB)

 Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day shop floor operations in crane and PEB manufacturing. The role ensures production targets are achieved while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency in fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.

 Key Responsibilities

• Supervise fabrication, welding, and assembly activities for cranes and PEB structures
• Plan and execute daily/weekly production schedules based on targets
• Monitor manpower utilization and allocate tasks effectively
• Ensure adherence to engineering drawings and specifications
• Coordinate with design, QA/QC, procurement, and dispatch teams
• Maintain production reports, shift logs, and performance records
• Implement quality standards and ensure minimal rework/rejection
• Enforce safety practices and compliance with company policies
• Identify process improvements and implement lean manufacturing practices (5S, Kaizen)
• Handle shop floor issues and provide quick resolution

 Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of structural fabrication and welding processes (MIG, TIG, SAW)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Knowledge of crane components (EOT cranes, gantry cranes) and PEB structures
• Basic understanding of production planning & control (PPC)
• Leadership and team management skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Familiarity with safety standards and industrial practices

 Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Relevant certifications in welding, fabrication, or safety (preferred)

 Experience

• 3 to 8 years of experience in crane manufacturing, PEB, or heavy fabrication industry
• Prior experience in supervising shop floor operations is required

 Salary
