Position: Purchase Engineer

Location: Vadodara, Gujarat

Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent

Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹40,000 per month

About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Engineer to manage procurement activities for fabrication and industrial machine manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, optimizing procurement costs, and ensuring timely availability of quality materials to support production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement & Sourcing
• Source and procure raw materials, mechanical components, fabrication materials, tools, and other production requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Conduct market research to identify new sourcing opportunities and improve procurement efficiency. 

Cost Optimization & Negotiation:

• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and commercial agreements with suppliers.
• Optimize procurement costs while maintaining quality, delivery schedules, and service standards.
• Prepare cost comparisons, purchase analyses, and procurement budgets.

Supplier & Vendor Management:

• Evaluate and onboard new suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery performance, and reliability.
• Conduct supplier performance reviews and audits.
• Maintain approved vendor lists and manage supplier documentation and contracts.

Inventory & Material Planning:

• Coordinate with production and stores teams to ensure timely material availability.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and minimize excess stock.
• Support inventory planning and implement effective inventory control practices.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

• Collaborate with design and production teams to understand technical specifications and material requirements.
• Work closely with the Quality team to ensure purchased materials meet required quality standards.
• Resolve supply chain challenges by identifying alternate sourcing options and implementing contingency plans. 

Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Maintain accurate purchase orders, supplier records, quotations, contracts, and procurement documentation.
• Support internal and external audits by ensuring proper documentation and record management. 

Required Qualifications:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. 

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience in Procurement Management.

Minimum 2 years of experience in Purchasing within the engineering, fabrication, or manufacturing industry. 

Required Skills:

• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Knowledge of industrial machine components, fabrication materials, and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
• Ability to evaluate supplier quotations and make cost-effective purchasing decisions.
• Excellent analytical, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. 

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹40,000 per month (based on experience and qualifications).
• Permanent, full-time employment.
