• New API synthesis: Carry out laboratory-scale synthesis of new Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and chemical intermediates following assigned project targets and literature/patent references.
• Route scouting: Evaluate and compare multiple synthetic routes for APIs on the basis of yield, purity, cost-effectiveness, safety, and scalability to identify the optimal manufacturing route.
• Process optimization: Conduct systematic DoE (Design of Experiments) studies and reaction optimization to improve yield, reduce impurities, shorten cycle time, and enhance overall process robustness.
• Scale-up support: Assist senior scientists in transferring optimized laboratory processes to pilot scale and, subsequently, to commercial manufacturing; document all scale-up observations and deviations.
• Impurity profiling: Identify, characterize, and control process-related and degradation impurities; work with QC to develop suitable analytical strategies for impurity control in line with ICH Q3A/Q3B guidelines.
