Job Description
Job Title: Business Development Manager (BDM)
Location: In Office
Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for identifying, nurturing, and developing new business opportunities that align with the company's growth objectives. This role involves strategic market analysis, relationship-building, and the ability to identify and capitalize on new revenue streams. The BDM will work closely with various teams to execute strategies that drive business expansion, increase sales, and strengthen client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and understand industry trends.
- Analyze competitor strategies and industry developments to uncover potential growth areas.
- Identify and evaluate potential clients and partnerships that align with company goals.
Business Strategy & Planning
- Develop strategic business plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market presence.
- Collaborate with leadership to create and implement long-term business growth strategies.
- Prepare forecasts and key performance indicators (KPIs) for measuring success.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Identify, qualify, and build relationships with potential clients through networking, referrals, and proactive outreach.
- Manage the end-to-end sales process from lead generation through closing deals.
- Maintain strong, lasting relationships with existing clients and develop account plans for revenue growth.
Negotiation & Deal Closing
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and agreements with potential clients and partners.
- Work closely with legal and finance teams to ensure contracts align with company policies and profitability goals.
- Track, report, and evaluate performance metrics on client accounts and partnership agreements.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with product development, marketing, and operations teams to ensure client needs are met.
- Act as a bridge between the client and internal teams to deliver on client requirements and maintain service quality.
- Contribute to the creation of marketing campaigns and promotional materials to support business development efforts.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client communications, and business progress.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on sales performance and market trends.
- Track metrics such as conversion rates, client retention, and revenue growth to inform future strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 3 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Preferred Skills: Knowledge of the industry or sector in which the company operates.
- Experience in managing and growing client accounts.
- Familiarity with market research tools and techniques.
