Roles & Responsibilities

1. 📐 Project Planning & Execution

Study drawings (architectural, structural, MEP)

Understand BOQ (Bill of Quantities)

Plan daily/weekly work schedules

Ensure work is executed as per design & specifications

2. 👷 Site Supervision

Supervise labor, contractors, and subcontractors

Ensure proper use of materials and machinery

Maintain discipline and productivity at site

Monitor progress vs timeline

3. 📏 Quality Control

Check material quality (cement, steel, bricks, sand, etc.)

Ensure proper mix ratios (e.g., concrete, mortar)

Verify work as per IS codes and standards

Conduct inspections at every stage (footing, slab, finishing)

4. 🧱 Execution of Work

Layout marking (center line, column marking)

Foundation work supervision

RCC work (shuttering, reinforcement, concreting)

Brickwork, plastering, finishing

5. 📊 Measurement & Billing

Take measurements of completed work

Prepare running bills (RA bills)

Maintain site records and daily reports

Check contractor bills before approval

6. ⚙️ Coordination

Coordinate between:

Architects

Structural engineers

Clients

Vendors & suppliers

Resolve site issues quickly

7. 🛠️ Safety Management

Ensure safety protocols are followed

Provide PPE (helmet, shoes, gloves)

Prevent accidents and hazards

Conduct safety briefings

8. 📦 Material Management

Estimate required materials

Track stock and consumption

Avoid wastage and theft

Ensure timely procurement

9. 📝 Documentation

Maintain:

Daily Progress Report (DPR)

Site register

Material records

Inspection reports

Keep drawing revisions updated

10. ⏱️ Time Management

Ensure project milestones are met

Avoid delays

Manage manpower efficiently

11. 🔍 Problem Solving

Handle site challenges (soil issues, design conflicts, labor issues)

Suggest practical solutions

Coordinate with senior engineers when needed

12. 🧾 Client Interaction

Update client on progress

Handle queries professionally

Ensure client satisfaction
