Engineering Drawing System Owner

Role: Drawing System Owner (Manufacturing)

We are rebuilding how engineering drawings are created, managed, and used in a manufacturing setup.

Today, our drawings are scattered across emails, folders, and people.

Tomorrow, they will become the single source of truth for the entire company.

You will own this transformation.

What you will do:

• Convert scattered drawings into a central, searchable system
• Ensure every drawing is accurate, version-controlled, and traceable
• Implement drawing change management (no more verbal changes)
• Create and improve internal process drawings during NPD
• Document rejections, experiments, and learnings with drawings
• Compare:
• Customer drawings
• Customer deviation reports
• Internal drawings
• Actual production parameters
• Improve drawings with:
• Callouts
• Ballooning
• Notes
• Create additional drawings:
• Machine parts
• Layouts
• Process flows

This role is NOT for you if:

• You need step-by-step instructions
• You just want to “make drawings” and go home
• You are not comfortable taking ownership

This role IS for you if:

• You get irritated when systems are messy
• You like organizing information properly
• You take initiative without being told
• You are comfortable using tools like AutoCAD, Google Drive, Excel
• You are open to using AI tools (ChatGPT etc.) to improve work

Must have:

• Good AutoCAD skills
• Strong computer skills (files, folders, search, docs, sheets)
• Ability to understand engineering drawings

Bonus:

• Experience in manufacturing
• Experience handling drawing revisions
