Job Description
Role: Process Owner – Manufacturing (Quality + Production Ownership)
We are rebuilding our manufacturing system.
One person owns one process from (cold forging, rolling, machining, assembly) — not just for quality inspection, but for ensuring that defects don’t happen in the first place.
You will not be “checking quality.”
You will be responsible for output quality.
What you will own:
- Quality of parts coming out of your process
- Reduction of defects and rejections
- Implementation of systems (not just following them)
- Understanding and improving how the process actually works
If something goes wrong in your process, it is your responsibility to:
- Identify it
- Understand why it happened
- Fix it
- Ensure it does not repeat
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Approve first piece before production starts
- Conduct in-process checks at defined intervals
- Track rejections (count + reason) daily
- Ensure proper segregation and quarantine of defective parts
- Work closely with operators and supervisors on the shopfloor
- Identify patterns in defects and take corrective actions
- Drive root cause analysis (not superficial fixes)
- Ensure correct tools, settings, and process conditions are maintained
- Coordinate with upstream/downstream processes (don’t pass problems forward)
Weekly expectations:
- Present top defects from your process
- Explain root causes clearly
- Show actions taken and results
- Suggest improvements to reduce future defects
What success looks like:
- Defects reduce consistently over time
- Problems are solved permanently, not temporarily
- You don’t wait for instructions — you act
- Your process becomes predictable and stable
- Others trust your output without rechecking everything
This role is NOT for you if:
- You need step-by-step instructions
- You wait to be told what to do
- You avoid responsibility when things go wrong
- You are comfortable doing repetitive checking work
This role IS for you if:
- You take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks
- You get uncomfortable when things are messy or inefficient
- You like solving real-world problems on the shopfloor
- You can figure things out even when no one guides you
- You are willing to learn fast and take initiative
Requirements:
- 1–5 years experience in manufacturing (mechanical preferred)
- Basic understanding of production processes
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Strong observation and problem-solving skills
Bonus:
- Experience in forging / machining / plating / assembly
- Experience handling quality issues or process improvements
Selection Process:
Level 1: Application Filter (Mandatory)
- Short problem-solving task (details shared after applying)
Level 2: Shopfloor Discussion
- You will be given a real situation and asked how you would handle it
Level 3: Final Meeting with Management
If you want a role where you actually build, improve, and own something — apply.
If you are looking for a comfortable job with clear instructions — this is not for you.
