Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Installation: Setting up wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, and lighting systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
- Troubleshooting: Using testing devices (like multimeters and ohmmeters) to identify electrical faults and malfunctions.
- Maintenance: Performing routine inspections on electrical components to prevent equipment breakdowns.
- Compliance: Adhering strictly to local, state, and national safety standards.
- Reading Schematics: Interpreting technical diagrams, blueprints, and layouts to plan wiring routes and installations.
Essential Requirements
- Education & Training: Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or a technical/vocational college degree.
- Certification/License: Valid journeyman or master electrician license as required by regional/local state laws.
- Technical Skills: Proficient understanding of electrical theory, along with the ability to safely handle hand and power tools.
- Physical Abilities: Good physical fitness, manual dexterity, and the ability to distinguish between all colors of the color spectrum to safely identify wires.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical-thinking skills to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
