Job Description
A Portfolio Dealer executes trades and manages asset allocations for client investment portfolios. They analyze market trends, execute buy/sell orders, and align portfolios with specific risk profiles, combining the analytical duties of a portfolio analyst with the trade execution of a dealer.
Key Responsibilities
- Trade Execution: Rapidly execute multi-asset orders (equities, bonds, mutual funds, and ETFs) based on research or client instructions.
- Portfolio Rebalancing: Monitor accounts and adjust asset allocations to maintain target risk-adjusted returns and desired client objectives.
- Market Monitoring: Continuously track financial markets, economic indicators, and corporate earnings to identify actionable investment opportunities.
- Client Advisory: Collaborate with Relationship Managers to explain market movements, present investment ideas, and address client risk tolerances.
- Risk Management: Mitigate market, credit, and liquidity risks through proper asset diversification and hedging strategies.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all trades and recommendations adhere to regulatory frameworks, internal governance, and record-keeping protocols.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
- Certifications: Certifications like the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or local regulatory licenses (e.g., NISM/NCFM in India) are frequently required.
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of trading mechanisms, financial instruments, and wealth management strategies.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with trading software, order management systems, and data analytics tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Wealth Spectrum, Miles Integra).
- Communication: Exceptional presentation and verbal skills to articulate complex financial concepts to high-net-worth clients and internal stakeholders.
