Job Description
- Shop Floor AssistanceAssist fitters in assembling machine components, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
- Provide support to welders by preparing materials and holding parts in place during welding operations.
- Aid electricians in running cables, connecting wires, and installing electrical components under supervision.
- Support fabricators in cutting, shaping, and assembling metal parts according to specifications.
- Help with general machine building tasks, such as bolting, screwing, and fitting parts together.
- Ensure a clean and organized workspace by removing debris and maintaining equipment.
- Material and Tool HandlingTransport materials from storage areas to the shop floor using forklifts, cranes, or manual methods.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers, ensuring safe handling and proper storage.
- Organize and maintain inventory of tools and equipment, ensuring they are readily available when needed.
- Distribute tools and materials to technicians and operators as requested, keeping track of usage.
- Assist in the inspection of tools and equipment for damage or wear, reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Support the disposal of waste materials and recycling efforts in accordance with company policies.
- Inventory and HousekeepingAssist in maintaining accurate inventory records by counting and documenting stock levels.
- Support the receipt and inspection of incoming materials, verifying quantities and quality.
- Help organize and store materials in designated areas, ensuring proper labeling and accessibility.
- Perform regular shop floor housekeeping duties, such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
- Ensure that walkways and work areas are free from obstructions and hazards.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and orderly work environment by following established procedures.
- Safety and ComplianceAdhere to all safety rules and regulations at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors immediately.
- Participate in safety training programs and meetings to stay informed about best practices.
- Follow instructions of supervisors and senior technicians carefully, ensuring tasks are performed safely and correctly.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Support the company's commitment to environmental sustainability by following waste disposal and recycling guidelines.
