Overview

An accountant prepares, analyzes, and maintains financial records. They ensure compliance with laws and regulations, track income and expenses, and provide insights to improve financial performance.

🧾 Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain financial statements (balance sheets, profit & loss, cash flow)
  • Record daily financial transactions and update ledgers
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Calculate taxes and prepare tax returns
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
  • Conduct audits and assist with internal/external audits
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts
  • Advise management on cost reduction and financial planning
