RPA Automation Developer

Job Purpose

The RPA Automation Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions that streamline finance operations, reduce manual effort, and improve data accuracy. The role focuses on leveraging automation tools and technologies to optimize end-to-end finance processes, ensure compliance with internal controls, and support business efficiency. By collaborating with finance stakeholders and cross-functional teams, the Finance Process Automation Developer will identify automation opportunities, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and deliver sustainable digital processes that enhance overall performance.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Automation Development: Design, build, test, and deploy automation solutions using RPA and low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Blue Prism, Power Automate).
  • Process Optimization: Integrate Power Apps with Power Automate to streamline and enhance business processes.
  • Workflow Management: Maintain and optimize automation workflows for accuracy, stability, and scalability.
  • Requirement Translation: Convert business needs into technical specifications and deliver effective solutions.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure all solutions meet data security, regulatory, and internal control standards.
  • User Enablement: Provide documentation, training, and support to drive adoption of automated processes.
  • Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues efficiently.
  • Innovation: Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices to enhance automation capabilities.
  • Decision-Making: Apply sound judgment to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Finance and related teams to identify and implement automation opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work with cross-functional teams across levels and departments.
    • Foster strong relationships within the Financial Shared Services Center and beyond.
    • Share knowledge and promote best practices.
    • Collaborate with IT and Data & Analytics teams on data strategy and architecture.
    • Provide relevant data insights to stakeholders.
  • Data Compliance & Integrity
    • Align automation with financial policies, regulations, and internal controls.
    • Complete required compliance training and follow company policies.
    • Support audits and maintain documentation to ensure data integrity.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Run reports and support testing to improve data quality.
    • Validate data during transformation and loading processes.
    • Analyze and address root causes of data issues.

Skills & Experience

 

  • 2–4 years of experience in automation development, finance systems support, or process improvement roles.
  • Proven track record of delivering automation projects that enhance efficiency, accuracy, or compliance.
  • Experience working in dynamic, cross-functional environments with shifting priorities.
  • Exposure to change management and user adoption strategies for new technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Regular use of databases and data systems.
  • Experience across finance process areas such as Record to Report, Procure to Pay, and Order to Cash
