Summary:
As an Oracle EBS Finance Functional Consultant, a typical day involves configuring, supporting, and enhancing Oracle E-Business Suite Finance modules to meet organizational financial and accounting requirements. This role encompasses managing financial processes, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining system stability across core finance applications. The consultant works closely with finance business users, technical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders across AMS (Application Management Services) and ADS (Application Development Services) projects to deliver solutions that streamline financial operations and ensure regulatory compliance. Driving process improvements, resolving complex finance application issues, and translating business needs into effective system configurations form the core of this role.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Expected to perform independently and become a subject matter expert in Oracle EBS Finance Functional domain.
Required active participation and contribution in team discussions, functional design reviews, and finance business requirement workshops.
Contribute in providing functional solutions to complex finance business and system-related problems.
Collaborate with finance business users, cross-functional teams, and technical consultants to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into functional design documents and system configurations.
Lead functional configuration and setup activities across Oracle EBS Finance modules including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), Cash Management (CM), and Expense Management (iExpense).
Support AMS/ADS project activities including incident management, service requests, enhancement delivery, functional testing, period-end support, and root cause analysis for production issues.
Prepare and review key functional deliverables such as Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Design Documents (FDD), Configuration Workbooks, and Test Scripts.
Provide dedicated support during critical financial period-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate closure of financial books.
Conduct System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) coordination, ensuring business sign-off on delivered finance solutions.
Monitor system performance, analyze functional issues, and collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve finance application problems.
Document functional configuration changes and maintain detailed records of system setups, enhancements, and financial process changes.
Assist junior team members by sharing functional knowledge and providing guidance on Oracle EBS Finance processes, accounting principles, and best practices.


Professional & Technical Skills:

Must Have Skills: Strong functional proficiency in Oracle EBS Finance modules — General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), and Cash Management (CM).
Must Have Skills: Deep understanding of end-to-end finance and accounting business processes including Record-to-Report (R2R), Procure-to-Pay (P2P) finance touchpoints, Order-to-Cash (O2C) finance touchpoints, and financial period-end close processes.
Must Have Skills: Hands-on experience in Oracle EBS Finance functional configuration, accounting setups, chart of accounts design, and financial reporting structures.
Must Have Skills: Strong knowledge of Oracle Subledger Accounting (SLA) rules, accounting entries, and financial reconciliation processes.
Good To Have Skills: Working knowledge of Oracle EBS technical components — PL/SQL, BI Publisher, and Oracle Workflow — sufficient to liaise effectively with technical teams on finance-related customizations.
Good To Have Skills: Experience with Oracle EBS Tax configuration including eBusiness Tax (eBTax) setup for AP and AR transactions.
Good To Have Skills: Familiarity with Oracle EBS Finance integration touchpoints with Procurement, Inventory, Order Management, and Projects modules.
Good To Have Skills: Exposure to Oracle EBS R12 Multi-Org, Multi-Currency, and Intercompany accounting setups.
Strong experience in conducting requirement gathering workshops, fit-gap analysis, and solution design for finance business processes.
Hands-on experience in AMS/ADS project environments — managing SLAs, handling L2/L3 functional finance support tickets, and delivering change requests and enhancements with minimal business disruption.
Ability to analyze functional gaps, propose finance process improvements, and configure system solutions for optimized financial operations.
Experience in preparing and executing financial test scripts, supporting UAT, and managing finance stakeholder sign-offs.
Strong understanding of financial controls, audit requirements, and compliance considerations within Oracle EBS.


Additional Information:

The candidate should have a minimum of 6+ years of experience in Oracle EBS Finance Functional role.
Strong hands-on functional knowledge across core Finance modules is mandatory.
Experience in period-end and year-end financial close support is essential.
Hands-on experience in AMS/ADS project delivery is mandatory.
This position is based at our Hyderabad office.
A 15 years full-time education is required.
