Apptio TBMS Developer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Apptio TBM Studio (TBMS) Developer to design, implement, and maintain Technology Business Management (TBM) solutions. This role focuses on building cost transparency models, allocation logic, and financial reporting within the Apptio TBM Studio environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Apptio TBMS, data modeling, and IT financial management, and will partner closely with finance, IT, and TBM offices to deliver actionable insights into IT spend and cost drivers.
An working exposure in General Insurance industry is preferred.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Core TBMS Skills
•    Hands-on experience with: 
o    Apptio TBM Studio (TBMS)
•    Strong understanding of: 
o    TBM taxonomy
o    Cost allocation methodologies
o    Financial modeling within Apptio
o    Intercompany charge backs and recoveries
Technical Skills
•    Strong data analysis and modeling capabilities
•    Proficiency in: 
o    Advanced Excel
o    SQL for data validation and querying
•    Understanding of: 
o    ETL processes
o    Data transformation techniques
•    Strong understanding of: 
o    IT Financial Management (ITFM)
o    Budgeting and forecasting processes
o    Cost structures across IT services
o    Variance analysis
o    Benchmarking
o    Vendor Insights
o    Cloud cost management
o    Familiarity with FinOPS frameworks (Focus)

Key Responsibilities
1. TBM Studio Development & Modeling
•    Design, develop, and maintain TBM models in Apptio TBM Studio (TBMS).
•    Configure: 
o    Cost allocations and drivers
o    Metrics, hierarchies, and mappings
o    Business rules and transformation logic
•    Build scalable models to support: 
o    Infrastructure costs
o    Application costs
o    Shared services allocations

2. Cost Transparency & IT Financial Modeling
•    Develop and maintain cost transparency models aligned to TBM taxonomy.
•    Analyze and model: 
o    IT spend across towers and services
o    Cost flows from source systems to business units
•    Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives.
•    Ensure accurate representation of unit costs (e.g., cost per service, cost per user).

3. Data Integration & Management
•    Ingest and transform data from multiple enterprise systems: 
o    ERP (SAP, Anaplan)
o    CMDB
o    HR systems
o    Cloud billing platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, GCP)
•    Perform: 
o    Data mapping and validation
o    Reconciliation and quality checks
•    Ensure consistency and reliability of source data feeding TBM models.

4. Reporting & Dashboards
•    Build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports within Apptio.
•    Provide insights on: 
o    IT cost allocation
o    Budget vs actuals
o    Cost trends and drivers
•    Optimize reporting for performance and user usability.

5. Stakeholder Collaboration
•    Work closely with: 
o    TBM Office / IT Finance
o    CIO organization
o    Business unit stakeholders
o    FinOPS
•    Gather requirements and translate them into TBM models and reports.
•    Support stakeholders with analysis, reporting, and decision-making insights.

6. Testing & Deployment
•    Perform model validation and unit testing to ensure accuracy.
•    Support deployment of: 
o    Model updates
o    Data changes
o    Configuration enhancements
•    Ensure adherence to change management and governance processes.

7. Continuous Improvement & Optimization
•    Identify opportunities to improve: 
o    Model accuracy
o    Processing performance
o    Data quality
•    Enhance existing TBM solutions to meet evolving business needs.
•    Drive automation in data processing and reporting workflows.

8. Documentation & Governance
•    Maintain detailed documentation for: 
o    TBM models and logic
o    Data sources and mappings
o    Allocation methodologies
•    Ensure compliance with TBM standards and organizational governance.
•    Support audits and financial validation processes.
•    Create Functional specs, Technical architecture and design documentations

Preferred Qualifications
•    Apptio (TBM / TBMS) certification
•    Experience in TBM Office or ITFM teams
•    Exposure to cloud cost management (AWS, Azure, FinOps)
•    ITIL Foundation certification
•    Experience in large enterprises (BFSI, telecom, technology)
