Job Description

Procurement and Purchase Head

Industry: Oil and Gas

Location: Patancheru, Hyderabad

Salary: 40-60Kpm

 

Key Responsibilities

 Procurement & Sourcing

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors for mechanical components, instrumentation, electrical items, and specialty materials used in gas generation systems.

• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), evaluate commercial bids, and negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and payment conditions.

• Execute purchase orders accurately and ensure on-time delivery aligned with project schedules.

• Maintain a database of approved vendors with performance ratings and alternate sourcing options. Import & Customs Coordination

• Coordinate procurement of imported components, including coordination with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping agents.

• Ensure compliance with import regulations, DGFT guidelines, and HS code classification for industrial equipment and materials.

• Manage documentation including Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and Certificates of Origin.

• Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or customs hold-ups.

 

Vendor & Supplier Management :

 

• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliability of supply and competitive pricing.

• Conduct periodic vendor assessments and communicate feedback in coordination with QC/QA departments.

• Resolve disputes, returns, and non-conformance issues with suppliers professionally and efficiently. Inventory & Stores Coordination

• Coordinate with the Stores team to monitor stock levels, initiate replenishment, and avoid critical shortages.

• Track pending orders and ensure receipts are matched against Purchase Orders (POs) and delivery challans.

• Maintain accurate material receipts, rejection records, and GRN (Goods Receipt Notes) in the system. ERP & Documentation

• Maintain procurement records in Tally; ensure all transactions are accurately logged.

• Prepare procurement MIS reports including purchase summaries, pending orders, cost variances
