Assistant Manager-Sourcing
Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
1. Vendor Management
- Development and commercial know-how of Sheet Metal components.
- Technically sound in manufacturing processes of Sheet metal components.
- New projects Tooling/Capex estimation based on the part geometry.
- Capacity evaluation of suppliers
- Floating RFQ, technical synthesis closures, DVP closures with suppliers/R&D
- Should have good knowledge of vendor database
- Should have knowledge of Tooling and Welding fixture development.
- Should have knowledge of New Projects supply management.
2. New Part Development:
- Conduct DR (Design reviews) basis Engg. Drawings / blue prints
- Drive Quality planning for new parts delivery (APQP or Advance Quality planning) with Suppliers
- New Part development ensuring New Part's Quality meet the Design Specs & Standards
- Validation of Tools / Dies / Gauge / Welding Fixture designs / concept & Proving out from Development stage, Buyoffs & handover for productionisations
- Ensure timely Submission of PPAP from Supplier & Submit to Quality post Process reviews, Control plan adherence / Signoffs along with Packaging review
- Work Coordination with Quality, R & D, Supplier, Development teams for New Development Related activities i.e. Sample / APQP/ PPAP / Defect Free Supplies / Ontime Delivery
- Handover Part to SCM team for Regular production post PPAP & Ramp up.
3. Quality Improvement
- Quality assurance in new development of parts / FTR (First time right) Sample development from Day1. Process Discipline and sign offs for consistent Quality and Zero-Defect Supplies
- PPAP Initiate & Validate 4M conditions.
- Supplier Process reviews & Drive CAPA against Non-conformance. Using QC tools & Problem solving tools. Facilitate Root Cause Analysis and corrective action implementation against anomalies
-- Drive Improvement related activities, Kaizen, Cost cutting initiatives (VA/VE) Quality improvement projects Yellow / Green belts, QMS
Experience
4 ~ 6 years industry experience (B.tech)
Industry Preferred
Qualifications
B Tech/BE - Mechanical/Automobile / Production Engg.
General Requirements

Handson Experience of :
- Development of Various Sheet Metal fabrication, Rubber, Plastic & H/W parts i.e. Skin Parts, Welded Parts, Structural Parts
- PPAP Initiation, Review, Submission & Approval
- Hand on experience in Sheet Metal Processes i.e. All type welding, Punching, Bending, Draw, Forming
- Familiar with Tool / Jig / Fixture / Dies Evaluation process
- Knowledge of PPAP, SPC, FMEA, APQP, MSA etc.
- Experience in Inspection with complete GD & T know how, Testing & Problem solving through standard approach, QC Story, DOE etc. ; Conversant with SAP;
- Auditing skills, Manufacturing processes and systems audit
- Problem Solving skills with Presentation skills. ERP / SAP knowledge
