 Within Microsoft Fabric, the Real-Time Intelligence team enables organizations to act on data as it happens. By combining real-time ingestion, streaming, event processing, and observability signals, the team delivers capabilities that help customers detect patterns, respond to events, and drive immediate action. These experiences are tightly integrated into Fabric to support modern applications and operational decision-making in real time.​ 

​​Kusto (Azure Data Explorer) is Microsoft’s real-time, big-data analytics engine that powers telemetry, log, and time-series analytics for products across Microsoft and for Azure customers worldwide. Within the Azure Data product pillar, the Kusto team is hiring a someone to work on Kaibot — our AI-powered assistant that helps engineers and customers troubleshoot issues, learn Kusto Query Language (KQL), and get self-service answers and diagnostics for the Kusto / Azure Data Explorer platform directly inside Microsoft Teams. What makes this team distinctive is its position at the intersection of large-scale data services and applied AI: you will ground large language models in real Kusto telemetry, product documentation, and support knowledge to deliver trustworthy, actionable help at Microsoft scale. This is a high-visibility opportunity to shape how thousands of engineers and customers experience support for one of Microsoft’s most widely used data platforms.

• This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  Preferred/Additional Qualifications 

  ​​Experience building AI- or large-language-model-powered applications, including techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, grounding, and evaluation of model outputs. 
  
  Experience developing and operating cloud services on Microsoft Azure. 
  
  Familiarity with Kusto / Azure Data Explorer, Kusto Query Language (KQL), or other large-scale data and analytics platforms. 
  
  Experience building conversational, bot, or Copilot experiences (for example, Microsoft Teams apps, Bot Framework, or similar). 
  
  Experience with service reliability practices — telemetry, monitoring, and live-site / on-call operations. 
  
  Proficient collaborator, comfortable working across engineering, product, and support teams.​
