Responsibilities

Strategic Roles and Responsibilities: 

Contribute to overall IT strategy and roadmap formulation by evaluating ideas, understanding emerging technology trends and providing inputs from enterprise architecture and overall information technology blueprint perspective

Understand the group’s long-term business strategies and goals, and formulate IT architectural strategy and function roadmap in alignment with both the Business and IT strategy

Drive and monitor strategic IT architectural projects and initiatives across all businesses in alignment with the IT Roadmap

EA Framework Design and Sustenance
Lead the development of a holistic enterprise architecture model for the whole of the organisation, from IT architecture perspectives
►    Develop and establish the current and future enterprise architecture definition and framework at the group and business levels
►    Ensure the Enterprise Architecture (EA) is closely aligned with the business strategy, business operating model and IT strategy
►    Establish the approach for the maintenance of architectural artefacts
►    Assess the inter business IT architecture, including information, services, components, data and infrastructure architecture and ensure their continued relevance
►    Define the EA operating model and policies; Ensure that the model is consistent with shifts within the organizational framework and pertinent to the organization’s overarching strategy and IT philosophy
►    Develop, communicate and deploy Enterprise Architecture Governance processes
►    Support CISO in developing enterprise Information Security architecture in the capacity of IT architecture SME
►    Support Cloud COE and Data Management COEs in developing cloud and data related architectures in the capacity of IT architecture SME
►    Responsible for governance of IT architecture; Create and establish the rules, regulations, policies, and standards that will govern the individual components of the IT architecture, as well as the IT architecture in its entirety
►    Manage and maintain EA-specific application inventory in accordance with Application Portfolio Management (APM) policies; Perform analysis of application inventory & drive inventory optimization

Roles and Responsibilities of Committee
►    Lead the Architecture review board (ARB) under the guidance of the Chairperson (GCIO) and guide ARB in order to drive teams to deliver comprehensive solutions in support of the business needs and in alignment current and desired IT/Technology ecosystem
►    Evaluate the business case shared by the business CIOs and recommend suitable solutions on need basis
►    Investigate and make recommendations on IT architecture decisions concerning architecture requirements raised by stakeholders
►    Review how existing IT applications and systems work together to meet the new and emerging enterprise IT requirements; Evaluate and synergize with existing IT solutions if any
►    Technically evaluate fitment of partner IT offerings and solutions vis-à-vis business requirements and rank partners basis evaluation criterion; Revaluate and make recommendations based on the technical and functional scores
►    Provide final sign off on solution architecture for group and business level projects after careful evaluation of all prerequisite factors

EA Support for Projects
►    Advise and assist concerned project management team on latest IT services and solutions to fulfil business requirements; Act as a SME from an EA standpoint and provide valuable insights at business and group level projects
►    Support multiple concurrent projects and maintain IT architectural oversight for solution development, system integration, enterprise toolset, research and development of technologies and partner offerings
►    Review projects as per established milestones to ensure compliance to specifications from IT architecture perspective
►    Sponsor and drive special EA initiatives and projects to boost the function efficiency and effectiveness of the architectural function; Lead IT projects specific to the EA function and support the end-to-end project management life cycle
►    Monitor deployment of new EA related guidelines and recommendations and provide advisory services to CIOs and IT teams to ensure the timely adoption and accurate implementation of those recommendations in alignment with the project expectations
►    Continually scan the changing landscape and identify potential partners to collaborate with, keeping in mind current/future requirements of the organization; Collaborate with BUs or respective COEs and identify prospective partners for project delivery
►    Track partner performance on architectural design and deliverables to ensure project delivery as per architectural best practices 
►    Monitor adherence to EA frameworks on all projects across group and business and provide recommendations to address related instances of non-conformances to architectural guidelines and sub-optimal performances of the applications arising out of architectural flaws
►    Cultivate strategic relationships with partners and effectively leverage them for value additions to Adani group
►    Design procurement plan for the EA function and facilitate raising of PRs for group-level EA related assets/ applications

Create a centralized support structure that gathers, administers, and dispenses information relevant to new architectural developments within existing and upcoming technologies 

Continually scan the changing IT landscape, tap trends and identify potentially viable IT solutions for the group; 

Provide recommendations for Upgrade and transformation of technologies that serve as the basis for the IT services and solutions in order to avoid technological obsolescence

Establish the Group Enterprise Architecture as the centre through which all the information about the modern architectural trends and best practices can be documented, maintained, and distributed within the larger IT fraternity in the organization

Recognize and collaborate with new upcoming partners (channels) and identify prospects to leverage their IT solutions to the group’s advantage

Facilitate organization of capability road shows and steer POCs in association with partners for technology adoption of rapidly evolving/ relatively mature IT solutions

Maintain point-of-view on new IT technologies for the Adani group and act as a clearinghouse for IT research and innovation within Adani

Lead and Manage a team of other Architects in the organization

Develop employee capability and knowledge in build functional excellence relevant IT / Technology skills of the architecture domain team through various learning and development interventions and mentoring initiatives

Drive a performance driven culture in the EA team – Set goals, review performance and provide feedback so as to ensure a motivated and committed team

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.E/ B.Tech) in Computer Science or a related discipline; In addition, Master’s degree preferred in IT/ Computer Science or MBA (PGDBM) with specialization in Systems; certifications like TOGAF, PMP, AWS/ Azure / GCP Cloud Certification can be of advantage

Experiences:

• Minimum overall IT experience of 15 - 18 years and preferable to have 8-10 years of experience in a similar function, with around 5 years of experience as COE/ function lead
• Expertise in design and management of Service-Oriented Architecture, Web Services, Database technologies, Integration strategies and enterprise best practices
• Experience with providing technology direction and architectural guidance for enterprise-wide solutions Technical management for a large/mid-sized organization with overseas operations
• Proven record of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) implementations
• Robust understanding of application life cycle management, change control & problem management processes
• Exposure to IT research & technologies tools and techniques and knowledge sharing
• Must have exposure of managing large scale transformation projects and seasoned understanding of change management
• Experience of managing complex stakeholder interactions and leading discussions with top management

Experience of managing technical teams and working in cross functional set up; Possesses ability to coach and guide teams
