Senior Engineer – ELK Stack & Observability

Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Engineer with strong expertise in the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) to support and evolve our observability platform. The role focuses on designing scalable data models, optimizing platform performance, and enabling operational visibility across distributed systems.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in Elasticsearch partitioning and indexing strategies, data modeling, and Kibana dashboard development, while promoting reliability, automation, and observability best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize ELK Stack solutions for enterprise observability use cases
• Define and maintain Elasticsearch partitioning, indexing, and lifecycle management strategies
• Develop scalable data models to support monitoring, analytics, and operational reporting
• Build and maintain Kibana dashboards and visualizations for technical and business stakeholders
• Ensure platform scalability, performance, and resilience across large data volumes
• Collaborate with DevOps, platform, and development teams to improve telemetry and monitoring capabilities
• Support observability and monitoring for Kafka-based platforms and streaming environments
• Work with containerized environments, particularly OpenShift, to support deployment and operational processes
• Contribute to automation, CI/CD integration, and operational best practices
• Provide technical guidance and support within the engineering team

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as a Senior Engineer working with the ELK Stack
• Strong hands-on expertise in Elasticsearch architecture, partitioning, indexing, and performance optimization
• Experience with data modeling and observability platforms
• Advanced knowledge of Kibana dashboards, searches, and visualizations
• Experience supporting large-scale distributed environments
• Experience working with containers and OpenShift platforms
• Understanding of observability concepts, telemetry, logging, and monitoring practices
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation tools

Nice to Have

• Experience monitoring Kafka platforms and streaming ecosystems
• Knowledge of Qlik Sense for analytics and reporting use cases
• Experience with OpenTelemetry or similar telemetry frameworks
• Experience with cloud platforms and enterprise-scale environments
