Job Title: Team Leader – PO Management & Procurement Operations
- Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic procurement professional to join our organization as a Team Leader – PO Management & Procurement Operations. This role is responsible for leading end-to-end Purchase Order (PO) management operations, ensuring procurement process compliance, driving operational excellence, and managing supplier and procurement master data governance.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in procurement operations, SAP procurement systems, supplier master data management, process improvement, and team leadership. This role requires close collaboration with Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, IT, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure efficient and compliant procurement service delivery.
- Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Operations & PO Management
- Lead and oversee daily procurement operations, including PR-to-PO conversion, PO confirmations, Goods Receipt (GR) processing, and PO cancellation activities.
- Ensure transaction accuracy, timely processing, and adherence to procurement policies and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Monitor procurement workflows and ensure compliance with approved suppliers, material master data, and procurement governance standards.
- Manage operational escalations and act as the primary point of contact for complex procurement-related issues.
- Support procurement process transitions, stabilization activities, and operational readiness initiatives.
- Ensure procurement documentation, approvals, and audit requirements are maintained in compliance with company standards.
- System Optimization & Technical Expertise
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, and eProcurement platforms.
- Drive procurement system enhancements, workflow automation, and process optimization initiatives.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system upgrades, integrations, and new functionalities.
- Provide technical support for procurement system issues, supplier onboarding challenges, and invoice reconciliation processes.
- Ensure robust procurement master data governance across all systems and platforms.
- Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency, reduce cycle times, and improve service quality.
- Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and workflow optimization within procurement operations.
- Conduct quality reviews and operational audits to ensure process accuracy, compliance, and data integrity.
- Support procurement transformation and operational excellence programs.
- Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain procurement KPIs, dashboards, and operational performance reports.
- Monitor procurement cycle times, PO compliance, supplier performance, and master data accuracy.
- Provide analytical insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the PO Management and Procurement Operations team.
- Manage workload allocation, team productivity, and service delivery performance.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, IT, and Operations stakeholders to align procurement processes and business objectives.
- Drive stakeholder engagement, governance adherence, and procurement system adoption.
- Support capability development through coaching, training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Required Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in Procurement Operations, Purchase Order Management, Supplier Master Data Management, or related procurement functions.
- Proven experience leading procurement operations teams and managing end-to-end procurement processes.
- Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of SAP Procurement / PO Management modules (SAP S/4HANA preferred).
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, and eProcurement platforms.
- Hands-on experience in:
- PR-to-PO conversion
- PO confirmations
- Goods Receipt (GR)
- PO cancellations
- Supplier onboarding and master data management
- Understanding of procurement compliance, approval workflows, audit requirements, and process governance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with process automation and continuous improvement methodologies.
