Job Description
Title:IP Receptionist (In-Patient Receptionist)
- Duties and Responsibilities:Register and admit in-patients as per hospital procedures.
- Verify patient identity, admission forms, and required documents.
- Guide patients and attendants regarding admission procedures.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, billing, insurance, and other departments.
- Prepare and maintain accurate patient admission records.
- Update patient information in the Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Handle room allocation as per availability and hospital policy.
- Assist with patient transfers, discharge procedures, and final documentation.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to patient and visitor enquiries politely.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Collect deposits and complete admission-related documentation, if assigned.
- Ensure all admission and discharge files are complete and properly filed.
- Inform concerned departments about new admissions and discharges.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
- Follow hospital policies, NABH standards, and patient safety guidelines.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Front Office Manager or Hospital Management.
