Assembly Fitter

Position: Assembly Fitter

Department: Production / Manufacturing

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs.
2. Assemble food processing and packaging machines as per design specifications.
3. Fit mechanical components such as shafts, bearings, gears, conveyors, pumps, and motors.
4. Perform alignment, levelling, and adjustment of machine parts.
5. Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments accurately.
6. Conduct machine trials and ensure smooth operation before dispatch.
7. Identify and rectify assembly defects and mechanical issues.
8. Maintain assembly quality standards and production schedules.
9. Follow GMP, safety, and hygiene requirements for food industry equipment.
10. Coordinate with design, production, and quality departments for technical clarifications.
11. Carry out machine installation and commissioning at customer sites when required.
12. Maintain assembly records and daily work reports.
13. Ensure proper handling and storage of machine components and tools.
14. Support preventive maintenance of assembly equipment and tools.

Preferred Candidate:

• ITI Fitter / Mechanical Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• 2–5 years of experience in machine manufacturing or industrial equipment assembly.
• Knowledge of food processing and packaging machinery is preferred.
• Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring instruments.
• Willingness to travel for machine installation and service activities.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of workplace safety practices.
