Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and commercially driven Business Development Executive to support business growth within the agricultural sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing customer relationships, conducting market research, and supporting the expansion of the company's product portfolio.
The ideal candidate should possess strong market knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to identify and develop commercial opportunities within the agricultural industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the agricultural sector.
- Build and maintain relationships with distributors, dealers, retailers, commercial farms, and agricultural businesses.
- Conduct market research and monitor industry trends, pricing, competitor activities, and customer requirements.
- Identify products with strong market potential and evaluate commercial opportunities.
- Develop relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
- Obtain quotations, technical information, product specifications, and commercial proposals when required.
- Support product portfolio development through market intelligence and industry feedback.
- Negotiate commercial terms with customers and business partners.
- Prepare business development reports and market analysis reports.
- Attend exhibitions, customer meetings, supplier meetings, and industry events.
- Coordinate with internal departments to support business development activities.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, customers, and market information.
- Achieve agreed sales and business development targets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Horticulture, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in agricultural sales, business development, commercial operations, trading, or related activities.
- Strong understanding of agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, crop protection products, biological products, or related agricultural sectors.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Good market research and analytical abilities.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional business relationships.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing network within the agricultural industry.
- Experience working with distributors, dealers, manufacturers, or agricultural suppliers.
- Experience identifying new products and commercial opportunities.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers and customers.
- Experience in the seed, fertilizer, agrochemical, biological, or agricultural trading sectors.
