Assistant Cook

We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking Assistant Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. In this role, you will work closely with our Head Chef and kitchen staff to prepare high-quality dishes, maintain a clean workspace, and ensure smooth kitchen operations.

If you have a passion for food, a strong work ethic, and at least 6 months of hands-on kitchen experience, we want to hear from you! Bonus points if you know your way around a wok or can stretch a perfect pizza dough.

• Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation: Wash, chop, slice, and prep vegetables, meats, and other ingredients according to station requirements.
• Cooking Assistance: Support the line cooks and Head Chef in preparing meals during peak rush hours.
• Station Setup & Breakdown: Ensure your assigned cooking station is fully stocked, clean, and organized before and after shifts.
• Kitchen Hygiene: Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation standards, including cleaning surfaces, washing utensils, and disposing of waste.
• Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels of ingredients at your station and inform the kitchen manager when supplies are running low.
• Requirements & QualificationsExperience: 6 months to 2 years of experience working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen (restaurant, café, or catering).
• Skills: Basic knife skills, understanding of various cooking methods, and the ability to follow recipes accurately.
• Stamina & Speed: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy pots/inventory, and work efficiently under pressure.
• Teamwork: Excellent communication skills and a positive, collaborative attitude.
• Certifications: Food Handler’s permit/ServSafe certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain one).

Preferred Skills (A Huge Plus!)While not strictly mandatory, we are highly interested in candidates who possess one of the following:

• Chinese Cuisine Experience: Familiarity with wok cooking, stir-fry techniques, or Asian ingredient preparation.
• Pizza Making Experience: Knowledge of dough handling, tossing, saucing, topping, and operating pizza ovens.
