Job Description

Job Summary The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, managing daily accounting operations, and providing timely financial reports to management. The role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and proficiency in accounting software and financial regulations.

  • Key Responsibilities Daily Accounting Record all purchase, sales, receipt, payment, and journal entries.
  • Maintain accurate books of accounts.
  • Verify invoices, vouchers, and supporting documents.
  • Reconcile cash, bank, and ledger accounts regularly.
  • Banking & Cash Management Prepare bank reconciliation statements.
  • Process online payments, RTGS, NEFT, IMPS, and cheque payments.
  • Monitor cash flow and maintain proper records of all transactions.
  • GST & Taxation Prepare and file GST returns within due dates.
  • Reconcile GSTR-2B, GSTR-1, and GSTR-3B.
  • Ensure compliance with GST provisions.
  • Handle TDS deduction, payment, and return filing.
  • Assist in income tax-related documentation.
  • Accounts Payable & ReceivableMonitor vendor payments and customer collections.
  • Follow up on outstanding receivables.
  • Maintain vendor and customer account reconciliations.
  • Payroll & Compliance Process monthly payroll accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with PF, ESI, Professional Tax (where applicable), Labour Welfare Fund, and other statutory requirements.
  • Maintain employee salary records and statutory filings.
  • Financial ReportingPrepare monthly MIS reports.
  • Assist in preparing Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements.
  • Support budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Audit & DocumentationMaintain proper filing of accounting records.
  • Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, banks, and consultants.
  • Provide documents required during audits and assessments.
  • Inventory & Fixed AssetsMaintain inventory accounting records.
  • Verify stock records with stores.
  • Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
  • General ResponsibilitiesMaintain confidentiality of company financial information.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost control.
  • Perform any additional finance-related tasks assigned by management.
  • Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent.
  • M.Com, MBA (Finance), or CA Inter preferred.
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience (or as required).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Required SkillsStrong knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, and ESI.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally Prime, Busy, SAP, ERP systems).
  • Good command of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Other Specific RequirementsReporting Time: 9:00 AM
  • Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM (Employees may leave by 6:00 PM if all assigned work has been completed and approved by the reporting manager.)
  • Ability to work during month-end, year-end, and audit periods as required.
  • Willingness to coordinate with banks, auditors, government departments, and consultants.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and business information.
  • Follow company policies, SOPs, and statutory compliance requirements at all times.
  • Ensure accuracy and timely completion of all assigned work.
  • Maintain professional conduct and a positive attitude.
  • Experience in a manufacturing company with inventory accounting, costing, and ERP systems will be an added advantage.
  • Immediate joining or short notice period preferred.
