Job Description

Job Description: MIS Analyst

Role Overview The MIS Analyst is responsible for designing, maintaining, and delivering MIS reports that support data-driven decision-making across the organization. The role involves data extraction, consolidation, automation, and visualization to provide accurate and timely insights to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain MIS reports and dashboards (daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc) using tools such as Excel, SQL, and BI platforms (Power BI/Tableau).
  • Extract, clean, and consolidate data from multiple sources/systems into structured, reliable reports.
  • Automate recurring reporting processes to reduce manual effort and turnaround time.
  • Monitor key business/operational metrics and flag anomalies or trends to relevant stakeholders.
  • Partner with business teams (Operations, Finance, Sales, HR, etc.) to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Maintain data integrity and standardization across reporting systems; conduct periodic audits/reconciliations of data.
  • Prepare presentations and summaries of MIS findings for leadership review.
  • Document reporting logic, data definitions, and SOPs for MIS processes.
  • Support ad hoc data requests and root-cause analysis for reporting discrepancies.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros/VBA a plus).
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and querying.
  • Familiarity with BI/visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Basic understanding of Python for automation/data processing (preferred, not always mandatory).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple reporting cycles and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Good communication skills to liaise with cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Commerce, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields preferred).
  • 0–4 years of experience in MIS reporting, business analytics, or a similar data-focused role.
  • Experience in BFSI/lending is a plus.
