Job Description
- Vendor Development & ManagementIdentify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for machinery components, raw materials, fabricated parts, electrical items, hydraulic components, and consumables.
- Conduct supplier assessments and maintain an approved vendor list.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions.
- Build long-term relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost competitiveness, and timely deliveries.
- Procurement PlanningReview material requisitions received from Production, Design, and Stores departments.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs).
- Compare quotations technically and commercially.
- Prepare comparative statements and purchase recommendations.
- Generate Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor execution.
- Purchase Cost ControlAchieve annual cost reduction targets through strategic sourcing and negotiations.
- Monitor market trends, raw material prices, and supplier performance.
- Identify alternative vendors and substitute materials without compromising quality.
- Delivery CoordinationFollow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
- Coordinate logistics and transportation of purchased materials.
- Resolve supply delays and material shortages.
- Maintain inventory levels to avoid production interruptions.
- DocumentationMaintain purchase records, vendor files, quotations, comparative statements, and purchase orders.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and ISO requirements.
- B. Quality Assurance & Quality Control ResponsibilitiesIncoming Material InspectionInspect incoming raw materials, bought-out components, fabricated parts, and outsourced jobs.
- Verify materials against approved drawings, specifications, and purchase orders.
- Conduct dimensional, visual, and functional inspections.
- Supplier Quality ManagementMonitor supplier quality performance.
- Conduct supplier audits and vendor quality assessments.
- Develop corrective and preventive action plans for supplier quality issues.
- Reduce supplier rejection rates through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Quality DocumentationMaintain inspection reports, quality records, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), CAPA reports, and supplier quality records.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Prepare quality certificates and inspection reports whenever required.
- Process ImprovementAnalyze recurring quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, and Service departments to resolve technical quality problems.
- Participate in root cause analysis and quality improvement projects.
- Customer & Third-Party InspectionsCoordinate customer inspections and third-party inspection agencies.
- Ensure inspection readiness and compliance with customer specifications.
- Address quality observations and corrective actions.
- Technical ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and manufacturing standards.
- Verify material grades, dimensions, tolerances, and technical requirements.
- Coordinate with design engineers regarding technical clarifications.
- Evaluate supplier manufacturing capabilities and process controls.
