Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to manage financial operations within our logistics and transportation business. The role involves handling cost tracking, fleet-related expenses, invoicing, compliance, and financial reporting to ensure efficient financial management of transport operations.

• Key Responsibilities1. Financial Accounting & ReportingMaintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and journals
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Reconcile bank statements and accounts payable/receivable
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting
• 2. Transport & Logistics Cost ManagementTrack and analyze fleet operating costs (fuel, maintenance, tolls, driver expenses)
• Monitor trip-wise profitability and cost allocation
• Maintain records of vehicle-wise income and expenses
• Identify cost-saving opportunities
• 3. Billing & InvoicingGenerate and verify customer invoices (freight charges, delivery fees, etc.)
• Ensure timely billing and collections from clients
• Handle vendor payments (fuel suppliers, contractors, transport partners)
• 4. Compliance & TaxationEnsure compliance with local tax regulations (e.g., GST, TDS in India)
• Prepare and file tax returns
• Maintain audit-ready documentation
• Coordinate with auditors during internal/external audits
• 5. Payroll & Driver SettlementsProcess payroll for staff and drivers
• Manage trip settlements, advances, and reimbursements
• Track overtime, incentives, and allowances
• 6. Inventory & Asset ManagementMaintain records of spare parts, fuel inventory, and warehouse stock
• Track depreciation of vehicles and transport assets
• 7. MIS & ReportingPrepare MIS reports on:
• Route profitability
• Fleet utilization
• Cost per kilometer
• Provide financial insights to management for decision-making
