Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As an Area Manager for Surendranagar within Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd's Farm Division, you will play a pivotal role in driving regional sales and marketing efforts. Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategically mapping territories by segment, application, and potential to optimise market coverage and sales efficiency.
- Accurately forecasting sales for the current portfolio of models and products to align with business goals.
- Collaborating closely with local dealers to implement targeted sales and marketing initiatives aimed at achieving and surpassing region-specific sales targets.
- Identifying, engaging, and nurturing sustainable relationships with key strategic customers, including fleet owners and transport operators.
- Leading customer engagement activities, such as organizing and conducting meetings with customer segments including transporters, carrying and forwarding agents to negotiate and finalise group deals effectively.
- Designing and implementing innovative finance schemes in partnership with financiers to enhance channel sales capabilities.
- Guiding and mentoring channel partners to develop robust secondary sales and service networks across the region.
- Functioning as a critical liaison between the product development and marketing teams and the end customers, ensuring alignment of product offerings with market requirements.
- Providing timely and insightful feedback to product and marketing teams based on customer expectations and competitive market intelligence.
- Monitoring competitor activities and upcoming product launches, devising strategic plans to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Delivering training, motivation, and professional development for channel partners and their internal sales teams to maximise performance.
- Conceptualising and executing localized promotional campaigns to expand market presence.
- Occupying a leadership role in increasing market share, promoting market expansion, and driving sustainable growth within the designated territory.

Education Qualification
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) or Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree with a specialisation in Agriculture or Mechanical Engineering. This educational background will support understanding of the technical aspects pertinent to agricultural machinery and mechanical products, enabling effective communication with customers and internal teams alike.
Additional certifications in sales management, marketing, or business administration will be considered advantageous and beneficial for success in this role by enhancing strategic and operational skills.
General Experience
We are seeking applicants who bring substantial professional experience in sales and marketing within the agricultural or machinery sector. Proven expertise in territory mapping, sales forecasting, and execution of marketing strategies is essential.
Experience working with dealer networks and managing channel partner relationships will be critical to succeed. The candidate should demonstrate capability in customer relationship management, including engagement with strategic clients such as fleet owners and transport services.
Moreover, experience in coordinating with finance partners to develop and roll out financing schemes will be highly valued. The role demands proficiency in analysing competitive landscapes and market trends to inform and adjust business strategies proactively.
Strong leadership experience with an emphasis on team development, stakeholder management, and motivational skills to train and empower sales teams and partners aligns with the responsibilities of this position.
Critical Experience
Critical experience includes a deep understanding of market segmentation and potential analysis specific to agricultural or mechanical products, facilitating precise territory planning and resource allocation.
A proven track record in conducting sales forecasting at a granular level to predict market demand and inform inventory and production planning is crucial. The successful applicant will have demonstrable skills in sales campaign planning, execution, and performance evaluation within a competitive environment.
Expertise in leading negotiations and developing strategic alliances with key customers, financiers, and channel partners is imperative to foster long-term business relationships and secure advantageous business deals.
Additionally, the role requires the candidate to have practical experience in acting as an interface among cross-functional teams, including product development and marketing, thereby influencing product enhancements driven by real market feedback.
