Assistant Manager - Operations

Job Purpose:

The Ground Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing daily flight operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and documentation. This role coordinates between the Operations Head and Officers, manages critical tasks, and ensures seamless execution of operational processes across all departments.

1. Operations Management:

  • Supervise and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of flight plans, manifests, Crew Briefing Sheets, NOTAMs, METARs, and other essential documentation.
  • Coordinate with AAI, CISF, Movement Liaison Unit, FRRO, and other regulatory bodies to secure necessary permissions and maintain compliance.
  • Ensure all flight operations adhere to national and international regulations, collaborating with the Operations Head to implement operational standards and practices.

 

2. Documentation and Compliance Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance of records related to sector reports, fuel uplift, FDTL, DGCA reports, licenses, medicals, and other operational documentation.
  • Ensure the proper upkeep and audit readiness of all flight-related documentation.
  • Monitor the timely calibration of alcohol sensors and the proper documentation of these activities.

 

3. Crew and Passenger Logistics:

  • Interface with travel desk for visa arrangements for pilots and crew, and oversee travel bookings.
  • Ensure that crew and passengers are briefed and prepared for flights, coordinating with relevant departments for smooth operations.

 

4. Safety and Security:

  • Ensure the safety and security of airplanes, passengers, baggage, and cargo by coordinating with relevant authorities and departments.
  • Monitor weather conditions and obtain NOTAMs from ATC, advising the team on any changes that may impact flight schedules.
  • Implement and oversee safety protocols, including accident/incident prevention programs and safety inspections.

 

5. Communication and Leadership:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the Operations Head and Officers, ensuring clear communication and efficient execution of tasks.
  • Lead and mentor the operations team, providing guidance on regulatory compliance, documentation, and safety procedures.
  • Represent the operations department in meetings with other departments, regulatory bodies, and external partners, ensuring the company’s interests are well-represented in all operational matters

Education Qualification:

  • Graduate/Engineering /B-Tech/MSE or
  • Management in Business Administration in Aviation/ Finance or HR

Work Experience (Range of years):

  • 8+ years

Preferred Industry:

  • Aviation

Certifications:

  • DGCA Approved Course in Flight Dispatch
  • ICAO/DGCA Five-day course in SMS
  • DGCA approved Course in Human Factors
  • DGCA approved Course in AVSEC
