Job Title: Cylinder Grinding Operator

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Cylinder Grinding Operator to operate cylindrical grinding machines and produce precision components as per specifications. The role involves setting up machines, ensuring dimensional accuracy, and maintaining high-quality standards.

• Key Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate cylindrical grinding machines (OD/ID grinding)
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications
• Select and mount grinding wheels, dress wheels as required
• Perform precision grinding to achieve required tolerances and surface finish
• Measure components using instruments (Vernier caliper, micrometer, bore gauge, dial gauge)
• Conduct in-process inspection and ensure quality compliance
• Adjust machine settings to maintain accuracy and productivity
• Troubleshoot issues related to grinding defects (burn marks, taper, chatter, etc.)
• Maintain machine cleanliness and perform basic preventive maintenance
• Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
• Required Skills & Qualifications:
• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant trade
• 2–5 years of experience in cylindrical grinding
• Strong knowledge of grinding processes and machine operation
• Ability to read technical drawings and tolerance limits
• Familiarity with grinding tools, wheel selection, and dressing techniques
• Knowledge of measuring instruments and inspection methods
• Preferred Skills:
• Experience in precision components manufacturing
• Knowledge of surface finish standards
• Understanding of GD&T basics
• Experience with CNC cylindrical grinding (optional but preferred)
