Job Description

Deputy Manager - Business Finance

Responsibilities

Operations Management: Ensure the maintenance of surprise-free processes by overseeing end-to-end treasury and trade finance operations, including the issuance and administration of Letters of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantees (BG), Acceptance, Buyers Credit, and Vendor Financing. Execute financial transactions on time to prevent payment defaults and delays. Lead and guide multiple teams across portfolios, ensuring seamless coordination with other teams and business units. Enable near real-time fund position in line with excellence standards.

Treasury & Trade Finance Process Governance & Risk Mitigation: Design and implement standardized and efficient processes across the organization for both Banking and trade finance operations. Identify process gaps, potential risks, and control weaknesses; proactively implement preventive and corrective measures. Establish internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies, thereby reducing financial and operational risks.

Quality & Compliance Management: Ensure 100% quality assurance in Banking and trade finance operations with zero defaults in payments and defects. Maintain hygiene and control standards to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Drive continuous process audits to ensure operational excellence and adherence to best practices. Ensure quality manpower allocation, assigning the right people to the right financial functions for maximum impact and outcome.

Process Improvement & Automation: Identify gaps in Banking and trade finance processes and implement best-in-class solutions for improved efficiency and cost reduction. Promote automation and AI-driven solutions to streamline processes, Management Information Systems (MIS) for the business team, and audit schedules, as well as efficient cash management, forecasting, working capital management, and end-to-end month closing activities.

People Management & Training: Develop and implement structured training programs to ensure the Banking and trade finance teams remain updated on regulatory changes impacting operations and compliance. Provide mentorship and guidance to enhance the teams' technical expertise, analytical capabilities, and process efficiency. Foster a culture of continuous knowledge sharing to strengthen governance, drive compliance excellence, and support overall team development.

Stakeholder Management: Ensure stakeholder alignment and engagement through regular meetings, governance forums, timely escalations, and performance reporting. Drive the development of a system infrastructure that enables near real-time visibility of cash flows and trade finance operations for key stakeholders, including CFOs, business units, and treasury teams. Provide actionable insights to support optimal cash flow and working capital management and timely financial decisions, enabling the business to negotiate better with banks and lenders through enhanced visibility into financial positions and obligations.

Cashflow & Working Capital Planning & Communication: Maintain a high level of proficiency in Cashflow Planning, enabling timely and accurate communication of the company's fund position to various stakeholders. Prioritize complex business challenges, offering timely resolutions and contributing strategically to process improvement, quality enhancement, and technology adoption. This position is essential in maintaining the financial health of the organization and supporting its long-term strategic goals.

Skip-Level Meetings: Ensure regular skip-level meetings with team leads and members to provide broader insights, address concerns, and foster open communication within the organization. These meetings help understand employees' perspectives, gain a deeper understanding of team dynamics, and address any challenges they may face.

Team Development: Build a high-performing team. Set clear KPIs, track progress, and implement strategies for continuous improvement. Promote a respectful and safe workplace, lead collaborative and productive teams, and mentor for growth and success. Tracks and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital business success.

Digital mindset: Champions a digital mindset within the organization to drive innovation and competitiveness. Keep up with digital and AI advancements to enhance business and maintain competitiveness.
