Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to support the design, engineering, and execution of process plants and industrial equipment. The candidate will be responsible for preparing engineering drawings, equipment layouts, fabrication drawings, and technical documentation while coordinating with process, production, procurement, and project teams.

• Key Responsibilities
• Develop 2D and 3D engineering designs for process equipment, piping, structures, and plant layouts.
• Prepare GA drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Design equipment such as tanks, vessels, reactors, filters, dryers, mixers, heat exchangers, and other process equipment as applicable.
• Prepare and review equipment layouts, piping layouts, skid layouts, and utility layouts.
• Generate BOMs, MTOs, and material specifications from approved designs.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards, codes, and client specifications.
• Coordinate with the Process Engineering team to understand PFDs, P&IDs, process requirements, and equipment specifications.
• Coordinate with fabrication, procurement, production, and site teams to resolve design-related issues.
• Review vendor drawings and provide technical comments/approvals.
• Conduct design reviews and incorporate necessary modifications based on project requirements.
• Support equipment selection, sizing, and technical evaluation where required.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy, manufacturability, ease of fabrication, installation, and maintenance.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting when required.
• Maintain proper revision control and engineering documentation.
• Ensure all drawings and design deliverables are completed within project schedules.
• Required Technical Skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks / Inventor / Creo / Solid Edge or equivalent 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of process equipment and industrial plant design.
• Understanding of fabrication methods, welding, sheet metal, machining, and material selection.
• Ability to read and understand PFDs, P&IDs, GA drawings, equipment drawings, and piping drawings.
• Basic knowledge of pressure vessels, tanks, piping, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and utilities.
• Knowledge of applicable design codes and standards such as ASME, IS, DIN, ASTM, etc., is desirable.
• Good understanding of engineering calculations and design principles.
• Familiarity with BOM/MTO preparation and ERP systems is an advantage.
• Educational Qualification
• B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Candidates with relevant experience in process equipment or plant design will be preferred.

Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design, process equipment design, plant engineering, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
• Candidates with experience in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, chemical, dairy, API, or process industries will be preferred.
