Production Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Production Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will coordinate the daily operations of the production floor, ensuring that goods are manufactured efficiently, safely, on schedule, and within budget. You will act as a vital bridge between executive strategy and factory-floor execution, driving continuous improvement and leading cross-functional teams to meet organizational goals.

• Key Responsibilities
• Production Planning & Scheduling:
• Develop, implement, and manage detailed production schedules to meet customer demand and sales forecasts.
• Assess project, labor, and material requirements to optimize workflow and prevent bottlenecks.
• Operations & Efficiency Oversight:
• Oversee the entire production cycle, monitoring productivity rates and adjusting processes to maximize output.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S) to minimize waste and reduce operating costs.
• Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure adequate inventory levels of raw materials and supplies.
• Quality Control & Compliance:
• Establish and uphold strict quality control standards to ensure output meets specifications.
• Enforce compliance with all local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA, etc.).
• Conduct regular safety and quality audits of the production floor.
• Equipment & Resource Management:
• Manage production equipment, approving routine maintenance schedules and urgent repairs to minimize downtime.
• Estimate costs and prepare operational budgets, managing expenses to stay within financial targets.
• Team Leadership & Development:
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate production personnel, supervisors, and shift leads.
• Identify skills gaps, organize relevant training sessions, and foster a high-energy, accountable team culture.
• Prepare production reports and present metrics/KPIs to senior management.
• Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Experience:
• Minimum of $3$ to $5$ years of proven management experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Demonstrated track record of meeting production quotas, maintaining safety standards, and managing budgets.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and team-building capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of production management software (e.g., ERP systems like SAP) and MS Office suite.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
• Clear and effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Working ConditionsPrimarily based on a manufacturing floor/plant environment.
• Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times on the floor.
• May require shift work, on-call availability, or extended hours to resolve urgent operational issues or meet tight deadlines.
