Job Purpose: The Head of Security Automation provides strategic direction and leadership in implementing and managing advanced security technologies across the conglomerate. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, establishing standards, and ensuring optimal performance of security systems in alignment with organizational objectives. The role also encompasses stakeholder collaboration, project governance, and fostering technological excellence to safeguard assets and improve operational efficiency across diverse business units
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Head - Security Automation
Strategic Leadership:
Define and lead the security automation strategy, aligning with the Group Security Head’s vision and the conglomerate's goals.
Establish governance frameworks for the deployment, standardization, and maintenance of security technologies across all business units.
Champion innovation by staying abreast of global trends and integrating emerging technologies to future-proof the organization's security posture.
Evaluate and influence policy development to ensure a cohesive approach to technology-driven security initiatives.
Security Technology & Automation:
Oversee and direct the implementation of cutting-edge security technologies, including AI-driven analytics, IoT devices, and integrated monitoring platforms.
Ensure scalability and sustainability of existing security systems (CCTV, access control, biometrics, etc.) and drive upgrades as needed.
Develop frameworks for automated threat detection, escalation, and response mechanisms to enhance real-time situational awareness.
Advocate for continuous improvement, leveraging data analytics to optimize system performance and detect vulnerabilities.
Project Governance:
Provide strategic oversight for large-scale security automation projects, including budgeting, risk mitigation, and resource alignment.
Ensure alignment of project objectives with business priorities and regulatory requirements.
Drive accountability by defining project milestones, KPIs, and quality benchmarks for timely delivery and performance.
Partner Selection & Engagement:
Shape the selection strategy for technology vendors, integrators, and solution providers to ensure alignment with organizational standards and long-term goals.
Negotiate high-value partnerships, fostering relationships that deliver cutting-edge capabilities and cost efficiencies.
Monitor and influence vendor performance to maintain robust service levels and technological support.
Performance Improvement:
Institute systems and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and reliability of deployed technologies.
Drive continuous innovation, identifying opportunities for system optimization and automation to enhance operational resilience.
Benchmark performance against global standards to maintain industry leadership in security technology.
People Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of security technology professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
Develop succession plans and capability-building programs to future-proof the security automation function.
Collaborate extensively with operational teams across business units to align security strategies with on-ground realities

- Provide strategic inputs from the automation and technology domain, to be incorporated into the Group strategy
- Engage with the businesses to understand their security technology requirements and subsequent automation needs pertaining to their businesses and concoct an action plan and seek approval from the top leadership
- Decide on automation initiatives aligned to the Group Security Strategy Roadmap to improve the gaps identified through diagnostic tests
- Drive the execution of the strategic initiatives related to automation at the Corporate/BU/Site level
Security Budgeting
- Conduct monetary evaluations of proposed projects in terms of cost analysis, budget estimation and ROI analysis
- Finalize budgets as well as conduct timely budget reviews with the leadership team on strategic projects in the area of automation
Security Technology & Automation
Technology & Automation Initiatives
- Formulate policy framework and performance metrics for updating Security Automation equipment and applications for better integration of data and operations in the Security function
- Design and lead organisation-wide diagnostic tests to understand the maturity of security processes and identify technological interventions to drive process excellence
- Oversee/ review design documents for engineering and procurement of the required automation initiative
- Formalize Security systems operating models including CCTV System, Access Control System, Intruder Alarm System, and Building Management Systems as per site/ business specific requirements
Research and Innovation
- Stay abreast with the new trends, latest technologies, new and advanced automation systems, applications, and advanced equipment to continually improve the Security infrastructure at Adani
- Adapt the latest trends to Adani context in order to build a better integrated, innovative and more efficient security technology ecosystem
- Lead site security automation projects ensuring project completion in a collaborative and time-bound manner
- Design training and awareness sessions pertaining to technology projects and ensure seamless adoption
- Lead the implementation of group-defined frameworks to govern the new projects
- Review the progress of the projects on pace of execution to ensure timely execution and resolve exceptions
- Lead technology evaluation meetings to discuss relevance of current systems and applications
- Define the need for partnering with external institutions and provide guidelines for preparing the Request for Information (RFI) document to be circulated to potential partners
- Finalize partners basis technical proposal evaluation and due diligence study; Sign-off the contracting processes to get the select partner on board
- Review partner performance and address instances of non-performances on a continuous basis
- Cultivate strategic relationships with partners and effectively leverage them for value additions to Adani
Performance Review
- Define the performance metrics for evaluating automation and technology initiatives and finalize with the GCSO
- Participate in the performance review of the function
Process Excellence
- Identify process gaps in the automation & technology initiatives and lead process excellence initiatives to address the process gaps and drive efficiency
- Drive the team to champion process improvements and establish ownership of action plans at appropriate points within the team
- Drive a collaborative and a high-performance driven culture in the team, with clear goal setting, performance review, and feedback mechanisms; Finalize the performance ratings for the team
- Lead capability development initiatives and talent management programs for the team; Coach and mentor critical talent
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor's, Master's Degree, Additional Degrees or Certification in Security Management preferred
Work Experience (Range of years):
Minimum 20 years in the corporate security field, background in military or law enforcement is preffered.
