Job Title: Fitter & Lathe Machine Operator

Job SummaryDhiren Plastic Industries is seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter & Lathe Machine Operator to maintain, repair, and manufacture components for injection moulding moulds and factory automation equipment. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring moulds and machinery operate efficiently to minimize production downtime.

• Key ResponsibilitiesInjection Mould MaintenancePerform preventive and breakdown maintenance of injection moulding moulds.
• Disassemble, inspect, repair, assemble, and test moulds.
• Polish, fit, and align mould components for smooth operation.
• Replace worn or damaged mould parts such as cores, cavities, ejector pins, bushes, guide pillars, and inserts.
• Maintain mould maintenance records and report recurring issues.
• Support mould trials after repairs and modifications.
• Lathe Machine OperationsOperate conventional lathe machines to manufacture and repair machine components.
• Produce shafts, bushes, spacers, pins, sleeves, and other precision parts as per drawings or samples.
• Perform drilling, threading, turning, facing, boring, and finishing operations.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy using measuring instruments.
• Automation Machine MaintenanceRepair and maintain factory automation equipment and production machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and perform corrective repairs.
• Replace bearings, couplings, belts, pneumatic components, and mechanical assemblies.
• Assist in installation and commissioning of new machinery and automation systems.
• Coordinate with electrical and production teams during machine breakdowns.
• Preventive MaintenanceExecute scheduled preventive maintenance activities for moulds and machinery.
• Maintain proper lubrication and cleaning of machines and equipment.
• Ensure maintenance work is completed with minimal impact on production.
• Safety & HousekeepingFollow all company safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tool room and maintenance area.
• Ensure tools, measuring instruments, and equipment are properly maintained.
• Other ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Suggest improvements to increase mould life and machine reliability.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance spare parts and consumables.
• Perform any other maintenance-related work assigned by management.
• Required QualificationsITI in Fitter, Turner, Machinist, or equivalent technical qualification.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is an added advantage.
• ExperienceMinimum 3–5 years of experience in injection mould maintenance and lathe machine operation.
• Experience in plastic injection moulding industries preferred.
• Experience maintaining factory automation machinery is highly desirable.
• Skills RequiredStrong knowledge of injection mould construction and maintenance.
• Proficiency in operating conventional lathe machines.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of mechanical assembly, fitting, and troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond quickly to machine breakdowns.
• Strong commitment to quality, safety, and preventive maintenance.
