Position Title-Mechanical Production Engineer
Department-Production / Manufacturing
Reports To-Production Manager / Plant Manager
Job Summary-
The Mechanical Production Engineer is responsible for planning, monitoring, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production, product quality, cost control, and timely delivery. The role involves coordinating production activities, improving productivity, reducing downtime, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
- Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning & ExecutionPlan, organize, and supervise daily production activities to achieve production targets.
- Monitor manufacturing operations and ensure adherence to production schedules.
- Coordinate with planning, quality, maintenance, and stores departments for smooth production flow.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
- Process Improvement
- Analyze production processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Identify bottlenecks and develop solutions to minimize downtime and improve output.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and other continuous improvement practices.
- Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure products are manufactured according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Work closely with the Quality team to reduce rejections, rework, and process deviations.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Resource Management
- Supervise shop-floor personnel and allocate resources effectively.
- Train operators and technicians on production processes and best practices.
- Monitor machine performance and coordinate preventive maintenance activities.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Maintain production records, process documentation, and work instructions.
- Track production KPIs and report performance metrics to management.
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- 0-1.5years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience in machining, fabrication, assembly, automotive, engineering, or industrial manufacturing preferred.
- Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of CNC machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, or process manufacturing (as applicable).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and OEE concepts.
- Understanding of quality control and production planning techniques.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and production reporting tools.
- Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Strong organizational and decision-making capabilities.

- Preferred Experience
- Experience in CNC machining, fabrication, sheet metal, automotive components, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Exposure to production planning and process optimization projects.
