Job SummaryThe OPD Nurse is responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients visiting the Outpatient Department. The role includes patient assessment, assisting doctors during consultations and procedures, maintaining patient records, ensuring infection control practices, and delivering a positive patient experience.

• Key ResponsibilitiesPatient CareWelcome and guide patients throughout the OPD process.
• Record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and oxygen saturation.
• Assess patient complaints and prepare them for doctor consultation.
• Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
• Administer prescribed medications, injections, dressings, and treatments as per medical orders.
• Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Clinical SupportPrepare consultation rooms and ensure availability of required medical supplies.
• Maintain accurate nursing and patient records.
• Assist in sample collection, ECGs, vaccinations, and other diagnostic procedures as required.
• Coordinate with laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, and other departments for smooth patient management.
• Infection Control & SafetyFollow hospital infection control protocols and nursing standards.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper sterilization of equipment.
• Adhere to patient safety and emergency response procedures.
• Documentation & AdministrationMaintain OPD registers and nursing documentation.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient information.
• Assist in appointment scheduling and patient flow management.
• Support hospital quality and accreditation initiatives.
• Required QualificationsGNM / B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Valid Nursing Council Registration.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Experience1–5 years of experience in OPD, Clinic, Hospital, or Healthcare setup.
• Freshers with strong clinical knowledge may also be considered.
• Required SkillsExcellent patient care and communication skills.
• Knowledge of nursing procedures and infection control practices.
• Ability to handle patients professionally and compassionately.
• Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
